Log Geometry and Chow Theory
Lawrence Jack Barrott (NCTS)

Abstract:

Chow groups have played a central role in many areas of algebraic geometry. Log geometry has grown in importance in the Mirror Symmetry community since the role of relative Gromov-Witten invariants has become clear. In this talk I will explain an attempt to bring Chow groups and geometric notions into Log geometry.
Hopefully this talk will be accessible to a general audience.
