Special Values of Thakur Hypergeometric Functions and their Period Interpretation
Ryotaro Harada (University of the Ryukyus)

Abstract:

In 1995, Thakur defined two analogues of hypergeometric functions in positive characteristic and studied their differential equations, integral representations, formulae, specializations and so on. But it was not known that they have a connection with periods unlike the classical case. In this talk, we introduce a period interpretation for his first analogue of hypergeometric function at algebraic points by t-motives. We also prove linear independence results for Kochubei polylogarithms as applications of this interpretation and the Anderson-Brownawell-Papanikolas criterion. If time permits, we further introduce Kochubei multizeta values and show that they do not have Eulerian/zeta-like tuples.
