Global Dynamics of an Infection-age Model of Disease Transmission (II)
Feng-Bin Wang (Chang Gung University)

Abstract:

In this presentation, we shall investigate an infection-age model of disease transmission, where both the infectiousness and the removal rate may depend on the infection age. The semiflow generated by this infection-age system can be described by Volterra’s integral formulation and integrated semigroup formulation. Then we show that the extinction and persistence of the model system can be determined by the basic reproduction number. Furthermore, the global stability of the unique endemic equilibrium can be also established by a Lyapunov functional.
