Marco Sutti is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS). His mentor is Professor Mei-Heng Yueh.

He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Geneva in 2020 under the supervision of Professor Bart Vandereycken. In his dissertation, he presents theoretical and numerical results on computing distances on the Stiefel manifold, generalizes the Hager-Zhang line-search technique to Riemannian manifolds, and proposes a new Riemannian multilevel algorithm for the optimization of large-scale variational problems, where the optimization variable is rank-constrained.

His general research interests are numerical linear algebra, optimization algorithms on matrix manifolds, low-rank matrix and tensor decompositions, machine learning, and computational fluid dynamics.

His personal website is https://www.marcosutti.net. In case of any queries, please contact him via his email msutti@ncts.ntu.edu.tw.
