Congratulations to Prof. Mu-Tao Wang being Newly Elected as Academician of the 33rd Session in Division of Mathematics and Physical Sciences
 
The NCTS is happy to announce that Prof. Mu-Tao Wang has been elected an Academician of Academia Sinica during its 34th Convocation of Academicians in July 2022. Prof. Wang is an alumnus of the National Taiwan University and received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1998.  He is currently a professor at Columbia University. He is a distinguished mathematician working in differential geometry, mathematical physics, and general relativity, where he is highly esteemed for his pioneering works on high co-dimensional mean curvature flow and quasilocal mass energy. For his outstanding contributions he has received numerous honors, including the Sloan Fellowship (2003-2004), the Kavli Fellowship of the National Academy of Sciences (2007), the Chern Prize (2007), the Morningside Gold Medal (2010), the Fu Prize (2012), and the Simons Fellowship (2014-2015). He is a frequent visitor of the Center, and over the years has collaborated with many mathematicians in Taiwan. The NCTS is pleased to congratulate him wholeheartedly on his accomplishments.
