The NCTS is happy to announce that Prof. Chieh-Yu Chang has been selected as a recipient of the 2023 Academic Award of the Ministry of Education. Prof. Chang has received his Ph.D. from the National Tsinghua University, where he is currently a professor in the Department of Mathematics. His expertise is in Number Theory and Arithmetic Geometry, and is internationally renowned for his numerous important contributions in the transcendence theory and the theory of multiple zeta values in positive characteristic. For his outstanding works he has received the 2013 Morningside Silver Medal, and on two occasions the Outstanding Research Award of the National Science and Technology Council. Prof. Chang has kept close connections with the National Center of Theoretical Sciences over many years, and indeed his very first postdoctoral position was at the Center. He is currently a member of the NCTS Program Committee Number Theory and Representation Theory. The NCTS would like to use this opportunity again to congratulate him wholeheartedly on his accomplishments.
