The National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS), Mathematics Division (NCTS) is happy to announce that Dr. Jun-Wen Wayne Peng has been awarded the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Academic Award for Postdoctoral Fellows. Dr. Peng is currently postdoctoral fellows at the NCTS, working on various aspects of dynamic systems. With his collaborators, Dr. Peng has found that the certain group-theoretic properties of the semi-group generated by endomorphisms of projective varieties can be characterized by their dynamic behavior. This remarkable discovery bridges group theory and dynamic systems. The NSTC Academic Award for Postdoctoral Fellows is given annually to 40 postdoctoral fellows in Taiwan every year who have published papers that made substantial contributions in their fields. Each award includes a monetary prize of NT100,000 and a certificate from the NSTC. The NCTS wishes to use this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Peng again on his achievements.
