Kuan-Wei Chen is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS). His mentor is Professor Chun-Hsiung Hsia.
He received his Ph.D. degree from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in 2021 under the supervision of Professor Chih-Wen Shih. In his dissertation, he combines mathematical analysis and numerical computations to make comparisons between the dynamics of two different types of gene regulation: Hill-function type and protein-sequestration-based repression in circadian clock models and two different decay mechanisms in the segmentation clock of zebrafish.
His research interests include differential equations, dynamical systems, and mathematical biology. He studies oscillatory dynamics of coupled-cell systems, especially in biological rhythms. Currently,he involves the theory of dynamical systems and differential equations to develop the mathematical problems in oscillatory dynamics for other biological rhythms.
