Yuan Shyong Ooi was Born and raised in Malaysia, I've embarked on an academic journey that has taken me from the University of Science, Malaysia to the esteemed halls of National Taiwan University. Under the mentorship of the Prof. Yng-Ing Lee, I earned both my M.Sc. and Ph.D., delving deeply into the intricate realms of minimal submanifold theory.

Following the completion of my doctoral studies, I continued to enrich my scholarly pursuits through postdoctoral engagements at National Taiwan University (2020-2021) and Pusan National University (2021-2024 my mentor is Juncheol Pyo), where I further honed my expertise and expanded my research horizons.

My research interest lies in understanding the nature behavior of minimal submanifold both in the hypersurface and higher codimension case. I study rigidity problem, classification problem and some PDE aspects of minimal submanifold using analysis tools. Recently, I also do some works related to soliton solution of Mean Curvature Flow (MCF).
