Flora Poon is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS). Her mentor is Professor Hsueh-Yung Lin.
Before joining NCTS, Flora was a PhD student at the University of Bath in the UK under the supervision of Professor Gregory Sankaran. She received her PhD degree in August 2024 with the thesis titled "Kuga varieties, K3 surfaces and the Kuga-Satake construction". Flora's research concerns the moduli interpretation of locally symmetric varieties of classical types, such as coarse moduli spaces of abelian varieties and K3 surfaces. In particular, she is interested in special families of K3 surfaces of high Picard rank. Here is Flora's personal homepage: https://sites.google.com/view/florapoon
