Chorin's Method (Artificial Compressible System) for the Incompressible Viscous Fluids

Abstract:
Chorin (1967) used an artificial compressible system to compute the stationary solutions (cell patterns etc.) of Rayleigh-Benard problems or Navier-Stokes equations. It is a singular perturbation depending on a small parameter. We justify the method for small parameters under appropiate conditions.
