Classification of Knotted Objects
Yi-Sheng Wang (NCTS)

Abstract:

Classification problems are an important theme and one major driving force in the development of geometric topology. In this talk, I will talk about classification problems in knot theory from two aspects: classification via fundamental groups, and knot tabulation. I will present recent progress and joint work with G. Bellettini, G. Paolini and M. Paolini on classification and enumeration of handlebody knots and knotted surfaces in the three-sphere.
