Spreading Speeds for Some Reaction-diffusion Equations
Chang-Hong Wu (National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University )
Abstract:
A significant issue in invasion ecology is to estimate the spreading speeds for invasive species and measure their geographical ranges. Mathematically, reaction-diffusion equations may help us understand these complex phenomena. In this talk, mathematical models for invasive species such as the Fisher-KPP model and Fisher-Stefan model will be introduced. I will also discuss some recent progress on the spreading speed for invasive species.
