In this talk, I will briefly discuss the history of the restriction problem with the classical Tomas-Stein theorem, introduce Strichartz’s estimate which has a close relationship with the restriction problem, and then use Strichartz’s estimate to solve the Cauchy problem of the critical nonlinear Schrodinger equation.
