The second-order L2-flow of inextensible elastic plane curves with boundary
Yang-Kai Lue (NCTS)
I will talk about the second-order L2 flow for inextensible elastic plane curves with certain boundary conditions. (e.g., hinged ends, clamped ends, or dynamic ends). This flow provides an approach to evolve plane curves into the equilibrium configurations of Bending energy in the class of inextensible curves. We obtained the long time existence of C∞-smooth solutions of the evolution with C2-smooth initial curves. Moreover, the asymptotic limits of this flow are inextensible elasticae.
