We consider the isothermal Euler-Poisson system which describes the dynamics of warm ions in an electrostatic plasma. Due to the electric potential term, Lax's approach for the finite-time blow-up is not directly applicable. We borrow Dafermos idea to study the formation of singularities in our situation.
