Large-scale Behaviors of Systems from Statistical Mechanics: SLE Curves (3)
Jhih-Huang Li (National Taiwan University)

Abstract:

In the third discussion of the series, we explain how to construct the main object we are interested in, the SLE random curves. Then, we will talk about their basic properties and give some historical background and remarks, among which the most important is the result proven by Lawler, Schramm and Werner in 2004, stating the convergence of the trajectory of the loop-erased random walk (LERW) to SLE(2). This is the beginning of the connection between SLE curves and statistical mechanics.
