Front Propagation and Blocking for Reaction-Diffusion Equations on Unbounded Metric Graphs
Yoshihisa Morita (Ryukoku University)
Abstract:
There are many mathematical models describing various wave propagation phenomena. It is known that a scalar reaction-diffusion equation with bistable nonlinearity possesses planar front traveling waves connecting two stable equilibria. For this bistable reaction-diffusion equation it is interesting and important to investigate how the propagation of fronts is affected by spatial structure of domains. Recently, we develop the study for front propagation in unbounded metric graphs, speci_cally, graphs consisting of half-lines with a single junction or two junctions. We report the results on the propagation and blocking for front waves on such unbounded graphs. It turns out that front-like entire solutions and standing fronts play key roles to classify the behavior of solutions. This talk is based on the recent joint works Jimbo-M (2019, 2021) and Iwasaki-Jimbo-M (2022).
