Hitchin's equations and integrable system (II)

We explain the origin of Hitchin's equations and relate the solution space to the moduli spaces of flat connections and of Higgs bundles. We also explain the appearance of integrable systems by Hitchin's fibration. The talk is accessible to graduate students in geometry.
