Abstract

After giving an adelic description of classical genus theory of quadratic orders, we apply it to give explicit formulas of genus character L-functions (first given by Kaneko and Mizuno in a complicated way). We also give an application to the number of maximal orders on M_n(F) for any algebraic number field F.
