Shear-induced Effects in Random Dynamical Systems
Dennis Chemnitz (Free University of Berlin)

Abstract
The mechanism of shear-induced chaos was first observed nearly 100 years ago by van der Pol and studied in detail by Wang and Young for periodic orbits perturbed by deterministic periodic kicking. Similar results for systems subject to random perturbation were not know until recently.
In this talk I will study dynamical properties, including chaos and finite time blow-up for random dynamical systems generated by stochastic differential equations with additive noise. This is based on joint work with Maximilian Engel and Michael Scheutzow.
