MRD Codes from Drinfeld Modules

Abstract
We construct a family of semifields and maximum distance codes using the theory of Drinfeld modules over finite fields. This generalizes and gives a more conceptual interpretation of a construction of Sheekey. (This is a joint work with Giacomo Micheli.)
