Randomness of the Möbius Function
Yuk Kam Lau (University of Hong Kong)

Abstract
The Möbius function is a classical important function whose oscillatory behaviour is dictated by the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta-function. Attempts have been made to understand it through the concept of randomness. In particular Sarnak's conjecture on Möbius disjointness in dynamical systems has received much attention. In this talk we give a brief account of some recent work by various researchers.
