Space-time Method of Fundamental Solutions for Anomalous Diffusion Equations and Convolution Quadrature

Abstract:
The method of fundamental solutions is an efficient numerical solver for elliptic PDEs. However, it is known to be unstable for time-dependent PDEs, specifically when the space-time fundamental solution is applied and time steps are small. In this talk, we propose a method that applies the convolution quadrature method for time discretization to improve stability for small time steps. We present numerical experiments demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
