Near Horizon Limit of Quasilocal Mass
Po-Ning Chen (University of California, Riverside)

Abstract

In this talk, we will discuss the near horizon limit of the Wang-Yau quasi-local mass. In all previous cases, the optimal embedding equation is solved based on pertitbative method near the Minkowski ground state. In the near horizon limit, we demonstrate that the optimal embedding equation is solvable based on the vanishing of the mean curvature.
