Half-order fractional inverse transport problems by Carleman estimates

Abstract:
We consider the radiative transport equation in which the time derivative is replaced by the Caputo derivative. Such fractional-order derivatives are related to anomalous transport and anomalous diffusion. By establishing Carleman estimates, we prove the global Lipschitz stability in determining the coefficient for the total attenuation in the one-dimensional time-fractional radiative transport equation of half-order.
