Entropy Methods and Cross-Diffusion Systems: Derivation and Entropy Structure
Ansgar Jüngel (Vienna University of Technology)

Abstract

The boundedness-by-entropy method allows for the proof of global-in-time existence and the boundedness of weak solutions to cross-diffusion systems. In this talk, we explain the method in detail and present the analytical tools needed in the

existence analysis, like approximative schemes and nonlinear compactness lemmas.
These tools are applied to cross-diffusion systems from population dynamics and
multicomponent ion transport.
