Evans Functions
Chueh-Hsin Chang (National Chung Cheng University)

In the study of local stability of traveling waves, the spectral analysis of the linearized operator around the traveling waves is needed and classical. Evans function is one of the important tool to find the number and location of the eigenvalues. The Evans functions was first considered by J. W. Evans in the stability problem of nerve impulse in the Hodgkin-Huxley equation. In this talk, we will study some background of Evans function and apply it to some reaction-diffusion systems.
