A New Stabilized Parareal Algorithm for Multiscale Coupling
Yen-Hsi Richard Tsai (University of Texas at Austin)

Abstract

I will describe a new parareal algorithm with superior stability property designed for parallel computation of hyperbolic initialvalue problems. The new algorithm is designed primarily with the goal of computing multiscale oscillatory problems in which intermittency plays an important role. We shall present our current linear stability theory about such scheme as well as application of the proposed algorithm to coupling Gaussian beams and direct numerical simulations of wave equations.
