NCTS International Conference on the Shock Wave Theory in General Relativity and Fluid Dynamics

April 7 - 10, 2026

Room 515, Cosmology Building, NTU
Organizers:
Yu-Shuo Chen (National Changhua University of Education)
I-Liang Chern (Institute of Applied Mathematical Sciences, National Taiwan University)
Shih-Wei Chou (Soochow University)

Aim & Scope

The theory of Shock waves has been one of the most important and interesting topics in general relativity and fluid dynamics whose governed equations are the nonlinear hyperbolic systems of balance laws, such as Einstein’s equations and compressible Euler equations. One of the major contributions to the shock wave theory in general relativity and fluid dynamics is given by Blake Temple. The conference is aimed to gather the leading experts to address their recent results on this topic, and to honor Blake Temple for his major contribution to the shock wave theory for several decades.
