Room 509, Cosmology Building, NTU

Speaker(s):
Yuan-Pin Lee (Academia Sinica)

Organizer(s):
Jungkai Chen (National Taiwan University)

1. Introduction and Contents

Representation Theory and Complex Geometryby Neil Chriss and Victor Ginzburg.

2. Prerequisites

Very basic algebraic geometry (at least Chapter 1 of Robin Hartshorne's book, for example)

3. Grading Scheme

Some homework problems will be assigned during the class. There will be no exam. The grades are assigned based on students’ in-class performance.

4. Course Goal

The goal is to learn the basic concepts of geometric representation theory, assuming minimal prerequisites. To complete the textbook within the course timeframe, we will focus on core material and skip some early introductory sections. (Note: The instructor is also learning this subject.)

5. Reference material (textbooks)

This course will follow closely the book
