Course Description
Nonlinear optics is the study of the interaction of intense laser light with nonlinear media (e.g. photorefractive crystals), having many fascinating phenomena. The study of nonlinear optics is important in science, engineering and technology. In this mini-course, we will introduce how to use mathematical analysis and numerical simulation to develop and justify mathematical models of nonlinear optics.
We wil cover the following topics:
1. Mathematical Models of Nonliear Optics
2. Analysis for steady State of Nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equations
3. Numerical simulation of Maxwell equations
4. Analysis for time Evolution of NLS equations
5. Numerical simulation of NLS equations
